You Do Design was my 'Lockdown Project' if took me over a year to write and then almost a year to create the website, transfer my work into a workable course and then launch it.
I loved writing it... something I never thought I would be ale to do, I didn't think I was 'capable' of writing anything comprehensible never mind an in depth course about one subject.
And so it's probably my proudest achievement to date.
I learnt a lot of things about myself during the process such as;
I'm quite focused.
writing the course made me examine what I do know and being honest about what I don't know. This helped me focus on what I do know.
I'm resilient.
It was one of the most challenging things I've done, having never written anything more than business plan or essay before (I realise it is quite challenging to write a business plan) but writing the course and overcoming several issues with how to write in a simple concise manner so that anyone reading it will understand was extremely difficult at times.
Just because I know what I'm talking about doesn't mean anyone else will.
I realised I know more than I thought I did.
I was able to understand my geekiness more and be kinder to myself by not apologising so much when I go over board as I launch into talking about anything design related when asked something about design.
Having had several people road test the course the feedback has been a lot more positive than I ever anticipated.
The process was challenging but one I enjoyed immensely.
To find out more drop me a message and I will do my best not to go over board in my enthusiasm when talking about it...
